Get involved!

Come out and volunteer with us! We are always looking for people who are

passionate about getting involved and helping out. While we do a lot of construction work, there are many other ways to join Habitat as a volunteer!

2005 Jimmy Carter Work Project in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Here are some opportunities:

Financial Assistance:  Help us eliminate substandard housing in our community! It's quick, easy and safe to support the hope-building work of HFH of Elkhart County, Inc. through our secure online donation system.

Construction Crew: Help with framing, roofing, drywall, painting, siding, and finish work. Volunteers are welcome on the construction site Tuesday through Saturday.  We have a group of volunteers who come out every Thursday and would welcome others to join this team or choose another day to come spend some time hammering nails with us. Call and schedule your group today.

Site Photographer:  If your hobby is picture taking or you want to be volunteer but don't feel comfortable with construction we are always looking for people to take photos of the construction process.

Office Assistance:  Help in the office with a variety of tasks ranging from data entry, assisting with mailings, answering the phones or cleaning.

ReStore Assistance:  Volunteers are always welcome at the ReStore to help organize displays, restock shelves, and clean merchandise.

Deconstruction Assistance:  Help salvage materials such as doors, windows, cabinets, and bathroom fixtures from homes slated for deomlition.  These items will then be sold in the ReStore.

Family Support:  Become a mentor to one of our partner families.  Mentors provide information and guidance for new homeowners and are someone they can turn to with questions that arise related to owning their own home.

Education Assistance:    Habitat tries to provide Partner Families with the tools and training they will need to be successful homeowners and are always looking for knowledgeable people who are willing to help teach various classes.  As a volunteer you could help lead a construction training workshop, a parenting seminar, a homeownership course, or a home maintenance class.

Prayer Partner:  Remember Habitat for Humanity and our Partner Families in your prayers. Check our newsletter or contact us for more concrete things to pray about.

All onsite volunteers need to fill out a waiver form.
