Reasons to Give
- We build more than houses. We build homes and we build families. For the first time in most of
their lives, families have a stable environment and a place to call their own. They helped build it, they own it, and they pay
for it.
- Make Your Donation Go Twice as Far. A "tithe" of all undesignated income goes to our sister
affiliate in the Dominican Republic. For each home built in Elkhart County, another is built by Habitat in the Dominican Republic.
- In 2009, Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County tithed more than $42,000.
- Habitat has sponsored more than 170 homes in the Dominican Republic.
- It makes good economic sense. Habitat homeowners pay property taxes in support of our schools and
public services. Most importantly, they build wealth and begin building lives to grow into all that God intends.
- Your gift strengthens Elkhart County neighborhoods. Vacant lots are transformed into homes where
children and families flourish, improving entire neighborhoods.
- We build partnerships and community beyond the neighborhoods where we build. We bring together volunteers
of diverse backgrounds to build a single home. These volunteers gain new understanding and an appreciation for
others, along with new and lasting friendships.
