The Colpetzer's Story

"If the economy were different, I would be an interior designer," says Laura Colpetzer. So now, as the construction of her house nears, Laura dreams about decorating the first place of her own. Laura has run her own business, "Laura's Residential Cleaning," since 2005. And when she's not juggling clients, she enjoys spending time with her sons.

She and her 6-year old son, Reese, enjoy Chuck E. Cheese, the zoo, and the park. And Reese loves to read. "He's got so many books-hundreds of books!" Laura says. Her 19-year old son, Nathan, enjoys hunting and fishing and will be graduating from high school in June. After graduation he hopes to land a job in the construction industry.

"All the hard work I've put into it will be worth it!"

Laura says her Habitat home means, "having my own place, having security. I won't have to keep dumping money into a place that will never be mine. All the hard work I've put into it will be worth it!" The boys are excited about the new house. Laura's family moved in with her parents a few months ago to save money. She appreciates their support, but she acknowledges with a smile that everyone looks forward to her moving day.
