About Us

Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County has been part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God's love into action by building homes, communities and hope.  Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.  Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Director of Construction Services

General Description: The Director of Construction Services is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing all related construction activity including new home construction, home repairs, home refurbishment projects, and salvage demolition projects.  This includes managing one or more construction site leaders, assigned construction staff,  construction work, supervising community construction volunteers, and working on home construction.  This position, in coordination with the Executive Director and the affiliate leadership team, is responsible for developing and overseeing construction budgets, subcontractor relationships, ensuring compliance with all building and safety codes, and for achieving construction schedules.

Donations Ambassadors
Habitat has immediate openings for 2 full-time positions as Donations Ambassadors to drive a box truck picking up donations. This position is responsible for developing positive relationships with donors and communicating professionally and effectively.  Work hours typically 8 am to 4 pm. Must be able to work some Saturdays.  Position requires heavy lifting. 14' - 18' Box Trucks, no CDL required. Competitive wages and benefits include: health, vision and dental insurance, paid holidays, PTO time and retirement plan.  DOT Physical, driving/background check, and drug screen required.
