Women Build

The mission of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program is to recruit, educate and nurture women to build and advocate for simple, decent and affordable houses in our community. Each Woman Build home is funded and built by women leaders and volunteers in our community.

A Note About Men:  As always, everyone is welcome to volunteer on our jobsite.  The goal of Women Build is to empower women, not to exclude men.

What Makes the Women Build Special?

Each Habitat house is funded by “sponsors” who provide the funding for the building materials and sub-contracting that makes building an affordable Habitat house possible. Sponsors are often businesses, churches, or groups of individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of partner families. The total needed for house sponsorships is $100,000. Homeowner mortgage payments from previous houses and receipts from the ReStore are also used to provide sponsorships for houses in Elkhart County each year.

We are looking for Team Leaders

A team leader is asked to help recruit a group of volunteers of approximately 5-15 women who will each set a goal and try to raise $200 and volunteer to build on your “build day.”

We will provide you with the information and tools you will need to recruit volunteers. Each volunteer will receive an awesome 2019 Women Build t-shirt!

Come as a group or as an individual, all are welcome (we even welcome men to join our group of strong women volunteers).
