of Elkhart County brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Our Vision
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

About Us

Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County has been part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seek to put God's love into action by building homes, communities, and hope.  Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.  Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman, and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Employment Opportunities

Open positions

AmeriCorp Opportunities

For one year, you can get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable
hands-on experience, and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position
offers a great opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others while building your own
knowledge and skillset.

AmeriCorps VISTA members are Volunteers in Service to America who perform

indirect service to build capacity and sustainability solutions.

AmeriCorps VISTA Resource Development

The AmeriCorps VISTA Resource Development position will help strengthen donor relations, specifically in the faith community, by studying and engaging the faith community. In addition, the Resource Development VISTA will aid in the implementation of a new donor/volunteer database and will assist in developing a donor engagement plan. The plan will increase efficiency and our affiliates' ability to build stronger relationships with new and existing constituents.

AmeriCorps VISTA Project Development

The Project Development VISTA will work with staff members and other community resources to survey partner families and complete a profile of the impact of affiliate home building projects over its’30+ year history. This survey will be used to develop and implement new family support programs, create or improve educational programming, and develop strategies to build leadership and leverage resources that increase the number of families served through the Habitat mission.
