Tracy Rolle Writtenhouse

A homeowner since 2008, Tracy had spent years working toward a safe and secure life for herself and her two children, Rudy and Jailyn.

After moving frequently and living with extended family, they longed for a place to call their own. While grateful for the support of loved ones, living in her grandparents’ home meant limited space and little independence. Tracy worked hard as a Community Inclusion Specialist at ADEC while pursuing her degree in Elementary Education, determined to build a better future for her family.

Everything began to change when Tracy’s aunt encouraged her to apply for Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership program. What once felt out of reach suddenly became possible. As she stepped into the process, Tracy saw more than just a house being built. She saw a path forward, a chance to create stability, and an opportunity to stand on her own. For her children, the dream was just as real. Rudy looked forward to having his own space to relax and dream about college, while Jailyn imagined decorating his room and pursuing his love of sports.

When their Habitat home became a reality, it marked a turning point for the entire family. It offered more than walls and a roof. It gave them independence, security, and a foundation for the future that Tracy had been working toward for years.
